Tools I offer
Imago
Imago is a relational approach, developped by Harville Hendrix and his wife Helen Lakelly Hunt, both American psychologists, for more than 30 years.
It’s been inspired by many Western trends in psychology, amongst which the power of empathy of Carl Roger, active listening, attachment theory and Martin Buber’s philosophy about the relational space or “space between”.
Main goals of this approach are to create connection, a fundamental human need and to become more conscious of patterns from the past making us reactive so we can be free ourselves from them.
More about Imago
The closer the relationship, the more past memories get triggered from the past and make
us unsafe emotionally… so we can grow.
Imago dialogue creates in the relational space the safety needed in so heart to heart
encounter may happen and growth too, especially with a person close to us! In this approach, relationships give us: life, wounds and healing.
Initially created for couple relationships, it has been so efficient and simple to learn in order to live with our differences and stay connected, that it appeared to be very beneficial for any close relationship: at workplaces, with corporates, families, parenting, education, as soon as two people or more are in relationship and really want to understand and cooperate with each other in a very safe way.
Imago means “image” in Latin. Our Imago is a composite image of the main traits of our care givers. It’s not the reality, it is how we experienced them. This impacts our adult relationships. Become aware of them gives power of choice.
NVC (Non-violent Communication)
Non-Violent Communication or NVC was developed by Marshall Rosenberg, an American psychologist, almost 40 years ago.
Based on Carl Rogers work and the power of empathy, it is also called “the language of life or compassion” because it aims to serve life, to be fully oneself and in relationship.
I really express what I am and I fully listen to what the other says.
NVC is used around the world to bring awareness and connection to all human relationships: at work, families, medical field, education…It has been used for mediation on armed conflict zone, in prison, anyplace where human beings are disconnected from themselves and the other and create violence.
More about NVC:
One fundamental concept of NVC is that human needs are universal, and when you are aware and deeply connected to your needs, then you feel at peace and willing to joyfully contribute to the other. Being aware of your needs is made possible by empathy or deep listening of self, of the other. NVC is a powerful tool for mediation and inner pacification.
See NVC WebsiteYOGA NIDRA or sleep yoga
Is based on ancient Tantric texts and has been updated by Swami Stayananda. Sophrology was inspired by it.
Guided by voice, an intermediate state between wakefulness and sleep is reached. The brain is then in alpha wave, a very particular state that allows: deep recovery, stress and insomnia management, activation of new neural circuits, physical and psychological healing. It is a powerful tool that also gives access to what the person aspires to be, free from fears and conditioning.
It complements well communication tools that are used at a conscious level.
EMOTIONAL REGULATION
Emotional Regulation is a natural ability that we all have to permanently erase from our brains the emotional disturbances that prevent us from being ourselves.
It was highlighted by Luc Nicon, a researcher in pedagogy.
Neuroscience shows us that certain fears, phobias, inhibitions, takeovers or inappropriate anger are linked to very old memories in utero and the body, through physical sensations felt in a state of emotional disturbance, allows us to deactivate them once and for all in a few seconds.
Another very simple and useful way to dissolve fears, expand your life and be happier in relationships!
I have used it with great pleasure already for myself and also with my patients who had dentist phobias.
